PROJECT GOAL
The goal of this project was to refresh the email banner system for Le Jardin Academy (LJA) to align with the school’s Art & Innovation theme for the year. The design needed to feel modern, creative, and consistent with LJA’s established brand identity. Deliverables included 18 digital banners for various communications, including LJA Weekly, departmental newsletters, and impact updates. The challenge was to create a concept that could scale across categories while visually reinforcing the school’s values of individuality, community, and progress.

CONCEPT
The process began by researching LJA’s brand standards and identifying opportunities to weave in the Art & Innovation theme through subtle color use, pattern work, and conceptual depth. I explored three distinct directions:
Concept 1: Puzzle Pieces
Leveraged the fleur-de-lis as modular puzzle elements, symbolizing the iterative nature of innovation and the interconnectedness of LJA’s community. This system allowed for flexibility in color, layout, and pattern variations across departments.
Concept 2: Vitruvian Man
A minimalist approach inspired by technical drawings and design precision, replacing the human figure with the fleur-de-lis.
Concept 3: Path to the Peak
A stylized evolution of a previous LJA graphic, emphasizing growth and aspiration through a mountain-path motif.
After presenting these options, the Puzzle Pieces concept was selected for its strong narrative and adaptability. I refined the pattern into a clean, dynamic grid that highlighted the updated fleur-de-lis in a playful yet structured arrangement. Subtle color accents introduced a sense of vibrancy without overwhelming the school’s core brand palette.
