PROJECT GOAL
The objective was to design an unconventional, eye-catching promotional brochure for the Malden Historical Society’s annual antique show. Tasked with deviating from standard brochure formats, I conceptualized a polygon-shaped layout that reflects the event’s vintage charm while offering a playful twist. The design needed to capture the essence of history and time, inviting viewers into an immersive, antique-inspired experience.

CONCEPT
To achieve the desired vintage aesthetic, I began by borrowing the color scheme from the Malden Historical Society’s website. Initially, I planned on incorporating a watch motif to symbolize time and history. Through iterative sketching, the watch evolved into a clock graphic that transformed into a vintage mandala. This centerpiece, combined with a custom border and title, not only became the focal point of the polygon layout but also doubled as a removable sticker. The design concept was inspired by childhood toys—objects that could transform between shapes—and this playful ingenuity was integrated throughout the brochure.
